Yes, you’ve read that correctly – current members of the Football Association Wales (FAW) Red Wall can receive a free MOT with Nathaniel Cars. We’ll inspect your vehicle to ensure compliance with the DVSA safety regulations, completely free. This comprehensive check aims to prioritise your safety and that of your loved ones while driving.
To qualify for a free MOT, you must be a current, fully paid member of the FAW Red Wall.
- You will be required provide your membership number when arranging your MOT online,
AND
- Show your FAW App with membership number and driving licence, so we can verify your membership and identity at the point of car drop off.
How it Works
1. Request your MOT online

2. Confirmation call
We’ll call to confirm your MOT appointment.
3. On the day
Bring your car to the designated location and our showroom host will direct you to the MOT desk.
Remember to bring your phone with your FAW Membership App and driving licence, so we can verify your membership and identity.

What’s the catch?
There’s no catch. We have a longstanding relationship with the FAW and by giving Red Wall Members a free MOT is our way of giving back to our community and promoting safety on the road.

While I wait for my car, will you try to sell me something?
No. While your car is being tested feel free to use our cozy waiting area.

Will you deliberately fail my car?
No. Your car will be tested in accordance with the Government’s (DVSA) MOT requirements – if your car fails, there’s no obligation to have your car repaired with us, we can arrange a MOT re-test free of charge.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION CALL?
Confirmation calls will be made no earlier than three months before your MOT due date.

Is this MOT different to my usual MOT?
No. Your free MOT will be conducted in accordance with DVSA testing criteria, just like MOTs where you would usually pay.

How far in advance should I book my MOT?
Demand for MOTs is currently high, so we recommend booking at least 6-8 weeks in advance.
If you book early, please note confirmation calls will be made no more than three months before your MOT due date.

Can I call to arrange my MOT?
Currently FAW Red Wall MOTs can only be arranged via the online form.

Can I book my motorbike/ van/ quad bike in for MOT?
No. The free FAW Red Wall MOT offer is only available for cars, but we do review the scheme periodically – so please do check back.

Can I transfer the free MOT to my partner/ family member?
Unfortunately, this is not possible, but we do review the scheme periodically – so please do check back.

I have a company car; can I transfer the MOT to someone else?
No. This is an exclusive offer for FAW Red Wall Members.

Why is the Cardiff showroom not an option on the enquiry form?
This offer is only available at our Bridgend, Cwmbran, and Swansea locations as we have limited MOT testing slots available at our Cardiff site and these are prioritised for Nathaniel Cars customers.
Our MOT Bookings Team can advise on the nearest showroom to your location on the confirmation call.

How long will my MOT take?
You should expect the MOT test to last up to 90 minutes.

What do I need to bring on the day of my MOT?
You’ll need to handover your car keys and show us your driving licence (photo ID) and FAW Red Wall App to confirm your current membership status. If this is your cars first MOT (or since a numberplate change) we also advise bringing the V5C document.
