After a highly successful charity evening on the 27th November, Nathaniel Cars are delighted to announce that the event helped to raise a fantastic £1,700. This money will go a long way in helping a local charity, Follow Your Dreams, supply support and care to young people with disabilities.
The evening’s VIP guests were Welsh International Rugby players, Mike Philips and Richard Hibbard. During the course of the night they mingled with the 150 attendees, posing for photos and signing items. Those in attendance greatly appreciated the chance to rub shoulders with some of Wales’s great players.
There was a highly informative and amusing question and answer session held by Mike Philips and Richard Hibbard. Questions ranged from what they predicted the score would be against South Africa to what gaming consoles they liked best. For over an hour both players answered questions tirelessly, adding in jokes whenever they could – to roars of laugher from those in attendance.
After the question and answer session was finished the evening moved onto the main event – the charity auction. Everybody who attended the event paid £5 for entry, which automatically entered them into the raffle, with all proceeds going directly to charity.
Several lucky winners took home rugby memorabilia including: two tickets to the Wales v Australia match, game shirts that were signed by the Welsh squad and a pair of signed rugby boots. Needless to say, there were many smiling faces as the awards were given out by Mike and Richard. Photos of the event can be found on our Facebook page here: www.facebook.com/nathanielcars.
Operations Manager of Nathaniel Cars, Nathan Griffiths said: “It is an amazing feeling to have raised £1,700 for Follow Your Dreams, we hope that this goes a really long way in helping them to provide an outstanding service to disabled people in the community. I’d like to sincerely thank Mike and Richard for helping to make this event such a great event. We really appreciate their efforts and hope to work with them again in the future.
“A special thank you to everyone who attended the event and asked questions. It really was a terrific atmosphere in our showroom. A brilliant combination of community spirit, a passion for Welsh rugby and important charity fundraising.” Added Nathan.
Follow Your Dreams are a South Wales charity who support and work with children who have disabilities. One of the ways that they help is by showing children what they are able to achieve, helping to inspire them through their own actions and improve their quality of life. Mike Philips is one of the patrons of Follow Your Dreams and was the driving force behind the decision to donate the money raised to their cause.
