The annual Wales Airshow is an exciting family event full of spectacular flying demonstrations and a chance to see historic World War I fighter planes. This year, the organizers added local music to the mix. Nathaniel Cars was proud to be a sponsor of the 2018 Wales Airshow.
Once again, Swansea has proved to be the ideal venue for a large community event. Considered the largest free show in the country, the Wales Airshow attracts a crowd. This year’s attendance broke the record. Along with the crowd comes a boost in the local economy. The airshow contributes over £8.4m to local businesses in the Swansea area every year.
Thousands of visitors enjoyed the flying demonstrations. Visitors were entertained with flying by The Red Arrows, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, and fighter planes from World War I. When it rained on Sunday, we were glad only two flying demonstrations had to be cancelled. The visitors were able to see some planes on display as well as tanks and other military vehicles.
Cllr Francis-Davies said: “This year the RAF is celebrating its 100th anniversary, we’re commemorating the centenary of the end of World War I and Saturday was Armed Forces Day.
We hope you enjoyed the airshow as much as we did. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for next year’s air show on 6th and 7th July 2019. We hope to see you there!Back to News
